　実際，日本ではScilabが広く利用されており，Scilabのダウンロード数のうち約10％は日本からのものです。Scilabコンソシアムにとって，日本のような国が独自のScilabウェブサイトを持つことは大変重要な意味を持っています。このサイトは日本のScilabユーザの情報共有の場を提供していくことになるでしょう。産業界，教育界にScilabの利用を即していく役割も担うことになります。私は，本サイトが日本人のScilabモジュール開発の後押しをし，世界中の全てのScilabユーザに有用なものを提供してくれるようになると確信しています。

It is a real pleasure for me to see that Japan has now a Scilab website.

Indeed, Scilab is widely used in Japan: nearly 10% of the worldwide Scilab downloads come from Japan. That is why it is very important for the Scilab Consortium that a country like Japan has its own Scilab website. It will provide Japanese users a place to share, exchange and know themselves. It will also participate in promoting the use of Scilab in Industry and Education. And I am sure it will be help Japanese to develop modules and make them available for all Scilab users in the world.
